In 2023 the Bendigo Pioneers U18 Girls program sought the expertise, guidance and advice from Liz with regards to driving the Culture and Leadership within our program. Our program aims to prepare talented Female footballers as part of the pathway into the AFLW. Developing the whole person, not only their footballing ability ensures that we are producing individuals and leaders which AFLW, VFLW and community clubs strive to engage as part of their programs. Liz spoke to the playing group about leadership – what is looks and sounds like, and the importance of being able to lead in different settings, contexts and ways. She assisted the playing group to form their values which they endeavoured to live throughout the season and were often reflected on during both positive and challenging times.
Liz was engaging with the playing group and had an ability to gain the players trust and buy-in very quickly. She is knowledgeable, seeks additional assistance to reiterate key messages and is only ever too happy to have follow up conversations regarding the progression of the group and individuals.
As we strive to improve on our results and performances in 2024, we are looking forward to having Liz work with our playing group once again to continue driving our Culture and Leadership.
